Nationwide MD has been in the news recently with several lawsuits filed against them. Insurance agent John T. The lawsuit by Durvert who claimed that ALIP was unfair and discriminatory. The Assistant Insurance Commissioner ruled that the policy was invalid and in violation of Maryland Section 48A. Fortunately for other insurance agents in Maryland, ALIP will go away. Lawsuits will continue as lawsuits against Nationwide will continue.

In a lawsuit filed in the District of Columbia Circuit Court in 1989, six plaintiffs sought damages from Muthuvel Chelaiah and Nationwide Mutual Automobile Insurance Company for their role in a car accident. The plaintiffs claimed that Chelaiah was negligent in driving and six people in the accident. The lawsuit alleges that Nationwide refuses to pay PIP benefits to any of the plaintiffs.
